Giacinto Frank
Russo
July 1, 1942 – August 26, 2023
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Giacinto Frank Russo of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who left us on August 26, 2023. He was 81 years young.
Born in the picturesque and classic traditional Italian town of Casabona, Italy, on July 1, 1942, Giacinto was fondly known as Frank by his friends in America. His journey from Italy to the United States in 1975 is a testament to his spirit of adventure and resilience.
A stalwart figure of dedication and love, Frank was the backbone of his family. As a dedicated and supportive father, he poured immeasurable love and guidance into the lives of his sons, Nicolas and John.
Professionally, Frank worked tirelessly as a Boilermaker for nearly three decades. His work ethic was unparalleled, yet he always made time for those he loved.
Frank's life wasn't only about work and family. He carried with him a gift – the ability to forge genuine connections with just about anyone. His jovial nature, and captivating stories made him an instant favorite in any gathering. He deeply cherished family ties and his Italian heritage, believing them to be the bedrock of a fulfilled life. He passed peacefully in Philadelphia at his son John's home, surrounded by lots of family.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Italia; devoted sons, Nicolas (Kim) and John (Melissa); and cherished grandchildren, Giada, Luca, and (little) Italia. His large family extends further to include many siblings, nieces, and nephews who will sorely miss his presence.
As we bid farewell to a loving husband, father, nonno, and friend, we take solace in the memories and life lessons he leaves behind. Frank's legacy will continue through the stories we share, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave.
The family thanks everyone for their outpouring of love and support during this time. They request that in lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude's in his name.
Services will be held at 12:30pm on Saturday, September 2nd at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 1304 4th Avenue, Coraopolis, PA 15108, with a reception to follow.
