Obituary

Geraldine Louise Brunner (nee Sacchetti) passed away on May 6, 2019. Gerry was
born on September 14, 1941 to the late Joseph and Ella Mae (nee McPeake) Sacchetti
of Ardmore, Pa. Her siblings were, Verna, Joseph, Dominic and Joanne. Gerry is
survived by her husband George H Brunner and her four sons, George Jr (Megan) of
Collegeville, Pa, Joel (Sue) of Upper Darby, Pa, Scott (Kim) of Bryn Mawr, Pa,
Keith(Lisa) of Bryn Mawr, Pa. and a beloved friend and adopted daughter, Ruth Sunzeri
of Havertown. Gerri had nine grandchildren, Lexi Hicks (Harry), Josh Brunner, Chloe
Brunner, Erin Brunner, Sara Sunzeri, Tori Brunner, Emilee Brunner, Corey Brunner and
Christine Sunzeri. She was a great grandmother to Harry J and Hayden Hicks. Gerry
is also survived by a brother in law Frank Albright of Glenn Mills and many nieces and
nephews.
Gerry was a 1959 graduate of Lower Merion High School. Gerry met the love of her life
George H Brunner at her cousin's wedding in November 1959. They were married on
June 24, 1961 at St. Coleman's Catholic Church in Ardmore, Pa. Shortly after getting
married, Gerry began raising her family and had her four beloved sons, George Jr, Joel,
Scott and Keith. Gerry dedicated her life to her children and family. She was a den
and little league mom. The Brunner house was always alive with the boys, family and
neighborhood children. She was a loving mom and homemaker, and as her boys
grew up, she became a business owner. Gerry was a co-owner of Main Line Floral
Design with her brother Dominic and niece Dara as silent partners. Gerry's love of
flowers and people allowed her business to flourish from 1990 to 1993. As the
grandchildren were born, Gerry began her next adventure of becoming an awesome
role model, best friend and confidant the children later called Mimi.
Gerry gave unconditional love to everyone she met, especially her 9 grandchildren and
2 great grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. She was a very active grandmother
attending concerts, shows, baseball games, soccer games and hosting many family
meals.
Gerry also had a special love for animals. Over the years she had many different
animals ranging from dogs, to cats, to ferrets, birds and bunnies. Many of the dogs she
rescued from the SPCA. When the vet had an animal no one would take and before he
would put the animal down he would call Gerry to see if she had room. She always
made room.
Gerry was a wonderful cook and enjoyed making holidays special. Gerry was in a
bowling league for many years. Gerry enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, spending
time with family and friends. Gerry was an extraordinary person. She would frequently
strike up a conversation with strangers, often times ending in a hug. Her kindness, joy of
life and unconditional love will be remembered and missed by her loving family.
