Gerald Edward Scannell, Jr., "Jerry", of Wayne, PA., passed away on January 17, 2022 at the Bryn Mawr Hospital.  He was 70.

Son of the late Gerald Edward Scannell, Sr. and Mary Rita Loughran Scannell, Jerry was born in Philadelphia on August 3, 1951. He grew up in the city before moving with his family to Paoli where he attended Conestoga High School. After graduating high school, he moved to Iowa, where he lived and worked for 20 years in the field of construction. During his time in Iowa, he graduated from the University of Iowa with a BS in Business Administration in 1973, and from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1986. Achieving his second degree, he returned to Philadelphia to work as an Architect. It was in Philadelphia that he met his wife. Together, they started Scannell Architects PC, moved out of the city to Wayne, PA, and eventually had their daughter, Alexandra.

A wonderful father, he spent much of his free time biking, reading works of non-fiction, sketching, water-coloring, sampling neighborhood restaurants with his wife, and keeping the family dogs as happy as could be. He spent his last few years with his family, retired, and much loved until the very end. He will be dearly missed.

He was the beloved husband of Laura Alane Lewis and devoted father of Alexandra Victoria Scannell.

Relatives and friends are invited on Saturday January 22 ^nd , to his viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 AM with a funeral mass to begin at 10:30 AM at St. Katharine of Siena Church, Lancaster & Aberdeen Aves., Wayne, PA.  Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
