Obituary

GEORGE T. CORRIGAN, 84 , of Villanova, PA.,died on February 24, 2015. Mr. Corrigan was the beloved husband for 52 years of Mary Dwyer Corrigan.  Devoted father of George T. Corrigan, Jr. (Jane) of New York, NY, Scott Dwyer Corrigan of Luthervile, MD, and Kelly Darraugh Corrigan (Edward Lichty) of Piedmont, CA.  He is also survived by his adored grandchildren Cole & Mary Corrigan, Georgia & Claire Lichty and Rocky & Dwyer Corrigan.  He was predeceased by his parents Henry & Cleta Corrigan of Baltimore, MD. He is also survived by his siblings, Eugene, Richard, Margaret Stegman and Mary D'Ambrogi.

Mr. Corrigan is a graduate of Loyola Blakefield H.S. in Baltimore, MD and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Maryland where he was a first team All-American lacrosse player.  He served in the U.S. Navy.  He was a member of Merion Cricket Club, Merion Golf Club, Martin's Dam Club and the Racquet Club of Philadelphia.  Mr. Corrigan was inducted into the Lacrosse Hall of Fame.  He worked in the publishing business in advertising in Philadelphia, Chicago and New York.  Since his retirement in 1999 from Hearst Publishing Co., he has coached the boys' varsity lacrosse team at Radnor High School.  He served as a Eucharistic Minister and on Project H.O.P.E. at St. Thomas of Villanova Parish.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Funeral Mass on Saturday February 28, 3 PM at St. Thomas of Villanova Church on the University Campus, Lancaster Ave., Villanova, PA.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to Radnor High School Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 8244, Radnor PA 19087.
