The long and beautiful life of George J. Betzler, of Audubon formerly of Bryn Mawr, PA. and Wildwood Crest, NJ., came to an end on Thursday April 17, 2008. He was 92.
The first of ten children born to Elizabeth and Aloysius Otto Betzler on September 27, 1915, George was the larger than life patriarch to 7 children, 24 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
His partner in life these last 67 years, Mary Roddy Betzler, will treasure an abundance of memories of this dapper song and dance man. Her high school sweetheart and the love of her life will be deeply missed.
At 21, George began his tenure at the Pennsylvania Railroad as a clerk. Over 41 years, he rose in the ranks, weathering mergers and acquisitions to retire as the Director of Coal and Ore Pricing.
A Funeral Mass will be held Monday April 21, 11 AM at Our Mother of Good Counsel Church, 31 Pennswood Rd., Bryn Mawr, PA. Relatives and friends may call at the Church after 9 AM. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA.
