Fr. James V. Vitali, O.S.A. passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021.   He was a member of the Augustinian Community of St. Augustine Friary, Villanova, PA.

Son of the late Albert and Rosemary (Procopio) Vitali, he is survived by his sister Monica and brother Andrew, nieces, nephews, and members of his Augustinian community.   He was preceded in death by his brothers Steven and David.

Fr. Jim served in parishes and other ministries staffed by the Augustinians in Mechanicville and Staten Island, New York, Andover, Massachusetts, Philadelphia, PA and Golden Gate, Florida.

Viewing on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 6:15 – 7:30 pm at St. Thomas of Villanova Church on the campus of Villanova University, followed by his funeral Mass at 7:30 pm.  Burial Friday, September 10, 2021 at 10:30 am in the Augustinian plot at Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the Augustinian Community requests that donations be made in memory of Fr. Vitali to The Augustinian Fund, Care of Sick and Elderly, 214 Ashwood Road, Villanova, PA 19085.
