Fr. Martin Lawrence Smith, O.S.A.'s Obituary
Fr. Martin L. Smith, O.S.A. passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024.
Fr. Marty was a member of the Augustinian community of Saint Thomas of Villanova Monastery. Son of James A. Smith and Agnes R. Kollenz, and brother to James F. Smith. Father served in various Augustinian ministries in Massachusetts, Florida, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C. and New Jersey as administrator, teacher and formator.
A Viewing will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024, from 9:00 am at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 800 Lancaster Ave., Villanova PA on the campus of Villanova University, followed by Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Burial will follow the funeral at Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the Augustinian Community requests that donations be made in memory of Fr. Smith to The Augustinian Fund, Care of Sick and Elderly, P.O. Box 340, Villanova, PA 19085.
