Fr. Michael H. Stanley, O.S.A., passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2022, in Albany, NY.  He was 70.

Son of the late Herbert and Teresa (Finnegan) Stanley, he is survived by his brother Richard, his sisters Patricia and Joan, other relatives, and members of his Augustinian community.  He was preceded in death by his brothers Philip and Robert.

After ordination, Fr. Michael served over twenty years in missions in Japan staffed by the Augustinians.  Upon his return to the Unites States in 2002, he was assigned to the parishes of St. Augustine, Troy, NY and St Mary of the Assumption, Waterford, NY.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing on Friday, April 1, 2022, from 9:30 – 10:30 am at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 800 Lancaster Ave., Villanova, PA, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Burial following the Mass at the Augustinian plot at Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the Augustinian Community requests that donations be made in memory of Fr. Stanley to the Augustinian Fund, 214 Ashwood Road, Villanova, PA, 19085 for the care of sick and elderly Augustinians.
