Felicia Hayes (nee Gilhool), of Springfield, PA., passed away on June 5, 2019.  She was 81. Felicia was born in Philadelphia to Blanche (nee Sherry) and Dr. Edward W. Gilhool on November 11, 1937.  She grew up in Bala Cynwyd and attended Merion Mercy Academy from elementary to high school, graduating in 1956.

After high school, Felicia attended Harcum College and afterward began a career in merchandising & advertising, which included some modeling.  She worked at Bonwit Teller and Lord & Taylor Department stores.  She was married to Dr. Joseph L. Hayes for 41 years who predeceased her in 2012.  Felicia is survived by her three children: Felicia Hayes, D.V.M, Major(Ret.) James Hayes, & Officer John Hayes. Felicia is also survived by her twin brother, William Gilhool, D.O. and her grandchildren Joseph James & Audrey Margaret Hayes.

Felicia and her husband traveled to Europe, Canada, within the United States as well as spending summer vacations at the Jersey shore.

For many years, she was a volunteer at Springfield Hospital, working mainly at the front desk helping patients get to their medical appointments.  She left volunteering in 2010 to be a caretaker to her husband.  When not travelling or volunteering, Felicia's hobbies included reading, knitting & needlework, watching movies, especially the classics and had a love of fashion.   Growing up, Felicia spent her summers in Ocean City and continued this tradition with her husband and children.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday June 12, 10:30 AM at Nativity B.V.M. Church, 30 E. Franklin St., Media, PA. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at the Church after 9:30 AM.   Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Media, PA.
