Dr. Evelyn W. Michele, of Bryn Mawr, PA., a retired orthodontist, passed away on Thursday December 6, 2007 at the Bryn Mawr Hospital following a long illness.

She was born in New York, NY. and spent her childhood there and in Oyster Bay, NY., where she was an avid horsewoman and tennis player.

A graduate of Tufts University Dental School, she was formerly an assistant professor of Orthodontics at the Columbia University Dental School. She was on the staff of the Manhattan Eye and Ear Hospital and president of the Tufts Dental Alumni of New York. She married Dr. Charles T. Michele, a general surgeon in Philadelphia, PA. and maintained a private practice there for many years.

Dr. Michele was a former winter resident of Palm Beach, FL., and spent her summers in Newport, RI. and Bay Head, NJ. She was involved in numerous charities and organizations.

Dr. Michele is survived by her daughter Karen of Bryn Mawr, her son Robert of London, England; two grandsons and her faithful companion LuLu.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday December 13, 11:00 AM at St. John Vianney Church, Youngsford and Conshohocken State Rds., Gladwyne, PA. Relatives and friends may call at the church after 10:00 AM. Interment will be in West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, Crozer Medical Center, Chester, PA 19013.
