Elise Furey Dunne passed away on January 25, 2026 at her residence in Bryn Mawr, PA.

Elise was the beloved widow of John Lowe Dunne. She is survived by her children John and Jenifer Dunne, Vincent and Debra Dunne, Elise and John Shafer, Tracy and Lester Petracca, Peter and Kim Dunne, Martha and Brian Gibbons, Jessica Dunne, and Heather and Hakan Sokollu. Also survived by 26 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, her brother Vincent Furey, and many nieces and nephews.

Elise grew up in Upper Darby and Wayne and attended Saint Katharine of Siena.  She graduated with a degree in music from Immaculata University. She taught elementary school in Philadelphia before raising her eight children. She was devoted in her faith and was a longtime member of Saint Matthias parish, and later Our Mother of Good Counsel. Her love of music continued throughout her life, and she sang in choirs and choral groups well into her later years.

Relatives and friends can greet the family at 10:00 A.M. and attend the Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February 9, at Our Mother of Good Counsel Church, 31 Pennswood Road, Bryn Mawr, PA. The burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
