Obituary

Eileen Williams McNeill, 84, of Haverford, Pennsylvania and Naples, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on February 18, 2024. She and her husband, Bob, shared 64 years of marriage, friendship, travel, and adventure.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Karl Anthony Williams and Marie Williams (nee Kelly). She attended Incarnation of Our Lord and in the eighth grade, Eileen was chosen for her high academic record to be crowned as The May Queen. She attended Cecilian Academy High School. She and Bob were introduced by a mutual friend on the boardwalk in Wildwood, NJ in July of 1954 and have been together ever since. Eileen graduated from Gwynedd Mercy University and she and Bob were married on October 1, 1960.

Eileen and Bob were devoted to each other. They played tennis and golf together, loved to travel, socialize with friends, and watch sports. They enjoyed time in summer at the Jersey Shore as it brought back fond memories of when they met and the great times on the beach with their entire family. Eileen was an avid reader of books, skilled at bridge and mahjong. She was very devoted to her Catholic faith and enjoyed attending daily mass. More than anything, Eileen loved watching her children and grandchildren compete in sports. Eileen and Bob enjoyed time with their friends at the Philadelphia Country Club and Pelican Marsh Golf Club. Their golden years have been spent in Naples, Florida, where they have met many new friends and reconnected with friends from their time living in Wellesley, Massachusetts, Fairfield, Connecticut, and the Greater Philadelphia area.

She is survived by Bob, sister Nancy Calvitti (Ray), brothers Karl Williams (Sally) and David Williams (the late Gerrie), children Robert Jr. (Karen), Christopher (Nancy), Lee Ann Leary (Paul), Patrick and 7 grandchildren (Kelly, Robert III., Jack, Ryan, Catherine, Megan, and Brendan), and many nieces and nephews, to whom she devoted her life.
