Eileen V.
Carr
March 20, 1936 – May 15, 2022

Her surviving children include Hamilton Carr, Helen Carr, Gerard Carr, and Gail Chira. Children George Carr and Veronica Carr predeceased her. Eileen loved Christ and the Church with unwavering dedication. She was a true practitioner of the principles of mercy. Her life-long career was as a nurse and shepherd to many of the departed in her community, who would often request her care in their final days.
In life her fondest memories were of her days as a young girl growing up in a fishing village in a humble yet wholesome way. She often spoke of adventures in jungle settings, watching the boats at sea, bullying her brothers and sisters, as well as fighting to defend them. As a mother she made extraordinary sacrifices for the safety and well being of all her children and grandchildren.
She had a joyful laugh, a genuine concern for community and country, and a resilience that survived 86 years in this troubled world. She truly exhibited a Christ-like manner throughout her life and taught others to do the same. She did good. May she rest in Peace.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Denis Catholic Church, Eagle Rd. & St. Denis Ln., Havertown, PA on Monday May 23rd at 11:00 am. Burial will be at the same location follow the service.
