E. William Ross, Sr. "Bill", 83, of Villanova, PA., an entrepreneur and civic leader, died on April 25, 2022.
Born on May 28, 1938 in Philadelphia, Mr. Ross was graduated from the Episcopal Academy in 1956 and Lehigh University in 1960 with a B.S. degree in Business Administration.
After graduation, Mr. Ross enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. In 1961, he joined Key Chemicals, Inc. of Philadelphia, a specialty manufacturer of surface treatment and cleaning chemicals, where he rose to become Chairman and CEO. He sold the company in 1987 and purchased Pelmor Laboratories, Inc. of Newtown, PA in 1989. Pelmor is a manufacturer of custom molded and extruded rubber parts. In 1998, he and his son William established Pelseal Technologies, LLC, a custom manufacturer of adhesives, sealants, coatings and caulks.
Mr. Ross was active in many civic organizations including the Frankford/Philadelphia Exchange Club (former President), the Metal Finishing Suppliers' Association (former President and recipient of the Munning Award), Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce (former Chairman), Lehigh University Alumni Association (Former Director and recipient of the Alumni Award), the Philadelphia Country Club (former Governor and President), MidAtlantic Employers Association (former Director and Chairman), Baker Industries of Devon, PA (former Director), and Main Line Adult Day Care Center, Inc. in Bryn Mawr, PA (former Director). He was also a member of several genealogy societies.
He was a Deacon, an Elder, and a Trustee in Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church in Bryn Mawr, PA and served as President of the Board of Trustees.
Mr. Ross was the beloved husband for 55 years of Dorothy Ross (nee Reilly). Devoted father of Edwin William Ross, Jr. (Stephanie), Catherine Ross Conlin and James D. Ross (Cynthia). Loving grandfather of Abigail, Caroline, Lucas, E. William, III., Tyler and John. He is also survived by his sister Sarah Fernley.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Service on Friday April 29, 11:00 AM at The Sanctuary of Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, 625 Montgomery Ave, Bryn Mawr, PA. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
