Obituary

Edward Kelley Hueber, resident of Penn Valley, PA and Stone Harbor, NJ, died at his Pennsylvania Home on Friday June 10, 2016. He was 95.

Son of the late Joseph A. and Miriam Kelley Hueber, he was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 5, 1921.

President and CEO of Kelley & Hueber , manufacturers of opthalmic products he continued in those positions when the family business, established in 1873, was acquired by Itek, Inc.

Following retirement he traveled extensively in Central and South America to introduce the concept of safety products to the major manufacturing industries in those areas.

During WWII he served as a Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy at Norfolk, VA here he developed and administered a Survival at Sea program for embarking sailors.

A graduate of Yale University Class of 1947, he was Captain of the Yale Swimming Team during its record breaking championship years.

He served a term as President of the Optometric Manufacturers Association, was a director of the Stone Harbor Realty Association and was an emeritus trustee of Salis University.

Pre-deceased by his son, Christian Hueber, II, he is survived by his wife Josephine Arader Hueber, his sons W. Graham and Franz III and grandsons Franz IV and Elliott.
