Edward J. Fitzsimmons, 82, of Greenville, Delaware and Cazenovia, NY, and a long time resident of Gladwyne, PA died Monday April 27, 2015 peacefully at home with his family by his side. He was born in Scranton, PA on September 1, 1932, the oldest son of the late Edward J. Fitzsimmons, Sr. and Nan Kehoe Fitzsimmons.
He was a graduate of Scranton Preparatory School, the University of Scranton, and Villanova University School of Law and was a Certified Public Accountant.
His professional career spanned 55 years with Arthur Andersen & Co. in Philadelphia, Brussels, Belgium and New York City; Carrier Corporation in Syracuse, NY; and ARAMARK Corporation, Philadelphia, PA from which he retired as Vice President responsible for corporate taxation, real estate and risk management.
Mr. Fitzsimmons was active in the Boy Scouts of America, serving as the president of the Valley Forge Council for a number of years, and received the Silver Beaver Award for distinguished service. He also was president of the Syracuse chapter of the Tax Executives Institute and worked with many governmental study groups on tax matters

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kathryn (nee Flynn), his daughter, Maureen Helson (Rick), his son Robert (Peggy), his daughter Karen Moore (Brian), grandchildren Sarah & Kaelyn Helson, Mary Kathryn Fitzsimmons and Brendan & Megan Moore, and his brothers Thomas, Jerry and Richard Fitzsimmons.
His son, Ned, preceded him in death.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday May 2, 11 AM at St. John Vianney Church, 350 Conshohocken State Rd., Gladwyne, PA. Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing at the Church beginning at 9:30 AM.
Interment will be at a later date in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow, PA.
