Don was born June 8, 1934 in Devils Lake, North Dakota, the only child of Clemens B. and Ethel (Murray) Wedwick. After graduating from Central High School he attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks where he received a degree in chemical engineering. He married Florence Garland in 1954.

Don spent two years in the U.S. Army stationed in Japan where his duties included collecting high altitude weather data. Upon his discharge from the service he began his career as a chemical engineer for the Hercules Powder company working in Minnesota, Michigan and New Jersey over the course of the next thirty-six years.

An expert marksman, Don also shot competitively in many regional competitions. In addition to target shooting Don was an avid collector of firearms and also enjoyed bowling, playing cards, reading and yard work. After his retirement in 2001 he and Florence moved to the Arbor Gate Community in Myerstown, PA where he enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Florence of 69 years, daughter Lisa Toland and husband Keith of West Chester, PA, son James and wife Janice of Hendersonville, NC, and daughter Jeanine Ketch and husband Christopher of Rochester, MN. Additionally, Don is survived by his eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Proclamation Presbyterian Church, 278 S. Bryn Mawr Avenue, Bryn Mawr, PA, 19010 on January 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Don's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
