Pasquariello, Ph.D.
April 24, 1931 – October 13, 2019
Domenica "Mae" Pasquariello, Ph.D. (nee Agnes) passed away on October 13, 2019 after a short illness at the age of 88. She was predeceased by her adoring husband Patrick, Jr., her parents, Pelligrino and Anna Agnes, and her daughter-in-law Victoria (nee Tiburzio). She is survived by her three devoted children, Caroline (Jim), Pat, III, and Annie (Barry) and her four grandchildren, Pat, IV, (Katy), Christina, Alexandra and Julia along with nieces and nephews.
Mae was a proud alum of the University of Pennsylvania (CW '53 and GRD '85). Most recently, she was the recipient of the Alumni Award of Merit. She was the perennial student and continued to strive to learn, auditing dozens of classes in the Penn Senior Associate Program. She was a proud member of Penn's Old Guard. She was actively involved in interviewing perspective students for Penn. Mae was a guidance counselor with the School District of Philadelphia for decades and even after her retirement, she always encouraged people she met to continue their education. She had a special gift to make instantaneous connections that were lifelong. She volunteered at the Mighty Writers, the Saint James School and the LaSalle Academy. She was a longtime volunteer for the Women's Auxiliary at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. She was an avid golfer. She learned bridge a few years ago and loved to play with her bridge partners and her cousin Bridget Nassib.
Mae will be missed by countless former students, former classmates, co-volunteers, and colleagues. She will leave a hole in the lives of her family and friends who experienced her enthusiasm and positive view of the world.
There will be a Visitation at St. Matthias Roman Catholic Church, 128 Bryn Mawr Avenue, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004 on both Thursday October 17 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday October 18 from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Friday. October 18.
In lieu of flowers, Mae's family asks for donations to a scholarship in Mae's name at the University of Pennsylvania.
