Dineen Bradley Watts passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on Saturday, September 4 th , after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. She was surrounded by her family. Dineen was born on September 25, 1934 , in Newark, NJ, and lived a full life with her husband, five children, eleven grandchildren and many friends. She was a loving wife, mom, sister , friend and 'Gran' to her grandchildren.
Lately a resident of Haverford, PA, she spent most of her married life in Audubon, PA, later mov ing to Collegeville , and enjoyed vacationing in Chatham, MA.
She grew up in Newark, attend ed Saint Rose of Lima School and participat ed in the CYO there . After being a c lass o fficer and Snow Queen in her junior year at Good Counsel High School, she continued her education at New Jersey College for Women, Georgian Court University, and Seton Hall University. She met and fell in love with Dick Watts and they were married in 195 7 .
The Watts home was the center for all family gatherings. Dineen and Dick instilled the importance of family and respect for others in their children. She loved music, played the piano and enjoyed dancing. She was also creative and as a young woma n sewed many of her own clothes. She had wonderful friends and spent time with them playing bridge and going on trips . For many years, Dineen was a parishioner of Saint Teresa of Avila in Norristown.
Dineen and Dick enjoyed traveling to Chatham so much they bought a house there. Dineen enjoyed many happy times at Oyster Pond and Harding's Beach, walking to town to the Mayflower shop for the morning papers and many Fourth of July parades , and sharing dinners o n the screened porch with her children and grandchildren. She loved the beach , swim ming, and playing golf and tennis . She was an avid reader and was a regular at the B ook m obile in Audubon and at the Eldredge Library in Chatham .
Dineen was pre-deceased by her parents , Joseph P . Bradley and Mary Mawn Bradley, and her husband, Richard L . Watts .
She is survived by her siblings Cornelius (Patricia) Bradley, Patricia Lynn Bradley VanLeuven, and Honora Bradley; her children Jennifer Yuknus of Doylestown, PA , Richard (Valerie) Watts of Bourne, MA; Philip Watts of Malvern, PA; David (Christine) Watts of Madison, GA and Narberth, PA; and Adrienne (Bill) Cramer of Penn Valley, PA; and grandchildren Kristin Hamilton, Megan and Thomas Yuknus , Shannon and Gregory Watts, Michael , Katherine, Matt hew and T h eresa Watts, Sarah and Helen Cramer , and great-grandson, Thomas Yuknus Jr .
Thank you to the caregivers at Sunrise of Haverford for their kindness and loving assistance over many years.
A M ass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 :30 am on Monday, September 20 th at St. Margaret of Antioch Parish, 208 N. Narberth Avenue, Narberth, PA . Visitation prior to the mass begin s at 9:30 am . A graveside service at Calvary Cemetery in West Conshohocken will follow .
