Dennis J. Sharkey's Obituary
DENNIS J. SHARKEY, of Narberth, PA, passed away on August 6, 2015 at Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, PA. He was 80.
Son of the late Dennis Sharkey, of Co. Donegal, and Sarah Kelly Sharkey, of Co. Down., he was born on December 8, 1934 in Bryn Mawr, PA.
Dennis started his career at Remington Rand. He later would own his own electronics company, CST. He was former Chairman of the Board of Assessments of Montgomery County. He served as the Mayor of Narberth for 22 years and was also the Chairman of the Republican Party of Lower Merion/Narberth.
He is survived by his longtime friend Diana Robison; his loving sisters Mary Gallen, Gerry Walker (Ed) and Jean Funkhouser. He was the proud uncle of Chris, Kelly, Greg, Eileen, Kristen, Allison, Kim, Eddie and 14 grandnieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday August 12, 11 AM at St. Margaret Church, 208 N. Narberth Ave., Narberth, PA. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing at the Church on Tuesday from 6-9 PM or Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:45 AM. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Thomas More Alumni Assoc., PO Box 294, Drexel Hill, PA 19026 or to ElderNet of Lower Merion, 9 S. Bryn Mawr Ave., Bryn Mawr, PA 19010.
