Obituary

DANIEL CONWAY DAGIT on December 9, 2018 of Phoenixville, formerly of Haverford, PA. Dan grew up in Wynnewood, PA, and had a youthful career of many odd jobs, from hauling ice, to lifeguarding on the beach in Avalon, NJ. After graduating from Villanova University in 1951 and serving as a First Lieutenant in the Marines during the Korean War, Dan followed his passion and was a third generation architect with Dagit Associates. He had a unique and special relationship with the Archdiocese of Philadephia and was extremely proud of the many churches, university facilities (such as Villanova, Immaculata, St. Josephs, Neumann College, and University of Pennsylvania), and school buildings (including Villa Maria, Merion Mercy, and Centennial Hall at Haverford School), as well as private residences he built. Dan was an avid golfer and fisherman, and named his favorite boat after his nickname "Divots".  He loved horses, was a member of the Whitford Hunt Club, and a long time member of the Philadelphia and Phoenixville Country Clubs, and the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Florida. His curiosity and love of people was infectious, and he made friends with everyone he met. As he would say, "he was the luckiest guy he ever knew!"  He packed a lifetime of laughter, dancing, fun, and smiles into his 90 years and will be sorely missed by all who loved him.

Dan was the beloved son of the late Albert & Marion Dagit. Beloved husband of Suzanne Dagit (neeWalsh) who pre-deceased him, and is survived by Virginia Dagit (nee Davis). The most incredible father to Rosemary G. Dagit (Christopher T. Denny), Daniel C. Dagit Jr. (Maria), Margaret Mary Kershner (Bruer), Mary Grace Dagit Smith, and Timothy Francis Gallagher Dagit (Jennifer), and step-father to Jennifer Davis Berlinger (Mark) and Randy Davis (Rika). Loving brother of Margaret Rogers, and Suzanne Sennhenn and the late Albert Dagit, II, Marion Muldoon,  Leonide Gillan, Diane Sommer, and Josephine Barnes. He is also survived by his grandchildren Sean Denny, Michael Dagit, Gregory Dagit, Bruer Kershner Jr., Kelsey Kershner, Britton Kershner, Hayden Smith, Rebecca Smith, Paige Smith, Timothy Dagit Jr., Carly Dagit and step-grandchildren Arden Berlinger, Stuart Berlinger, Gillian Davis and Emilie Davis. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday December 13, 10 AM at St. John Vianney Church, 350 Conshohocken State Rd, Gladwyne, PA 19035. Relatives and friends may call at the Church after 9 AM.  Interment will be private.
