Cynthia C.
Walsh
May 31, 1944 – June 17, 2023
Cynthia "Cindy" Walsh (nee Cornell) age 79, died June 17, 2023, at home in Bryn Mawr, PA, surrounded by family. She was married to Daniel J. Walsh, III, for 55 years, he literally fell out of the sky, and they have been together ever since. She lived a full life and will be missed by all.
Cindy was a fantastic mom, an adoring wife, and a great friend who was always there when we needed her. Her real passion was her seven grandchildren! She was an exceptional grandmother; her grandchildren adored and loved being with their Mima. And, of course, she loved her many dogs over the years. Cindy always did something to make someone happy; everyone will miss her generosity and wise counsel.
Cindy made time for everyone. The Duchess – aka "Cindy," dedicated her life to good deeds. She supported and loved friends, family, and anyone who could use some assistance. Cindy quietly helped people with her friendship and acts of kindness. She anonymously provided financial aid or whatever was needed to help someone else have a better situation.
A lifelong artist and craftswoman. Cindy was either painting or diving deep into creative projects. Halloween costumes and Night in Venice boats were clever works of art. She spent lots of time in Ocean City, NJ. Hosting Girl's Week for many years with her gang, everyone was assigned their task: painting, sewing, or making ghosts, despite their artistic talent; and when everyone went to bed, she "enhanced" all their crafts. Cindy even graced the silver screen with her acting talents. Being casted as a background extra helped propel films to Oscar nominations.
Cindy loved skiing, golf, tennis, painting, sewing, and any craft she could get her hands on, and she excelled at them all. The Walsh house constantly flowed with friends, laughter, good food, great times, and lots of mischief.
Cindy was diagnosed almost 9 years ago with cancer. She fought hard and went through many treatments. Her goal was to see her grandchildren graduate from high school. She made it to 6 out of 7 high school graduations when she wasn't even supposed to make it to the first.
In addition to her husband, Dan, she is also survived by her children, Missy Hazell (Shannon) of Havertown, PA, Bruce Walsh (Wendy) of Gladwyne, PA, Marni Walsh of Jackson, WY, and Allison Walsh of Gladwyne, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michael, Andy, and Kristen Walsh, Elsley and Adayr Hazell, Kailey and Sean Finnerty, and her brother, Chuck Cornell (Janet) of Lexington, VA. She was predeceased by her parents, Ethel and Ralph Cornell of Woodbury, NJ, and her brother, Bruce Cornell.
Relatives and friends are invited on Thursday June 22nd, Visitation from 9:30 to 10:45 AM with Funeral Service at 11:00 AM all at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 226 Righters Mill Rd., Gladwyne, PA. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
