Obituary

Christopher Vito DiCicco, 85, passed away peacefully at his home in Newtown Square, PA, on February 1, 2025.

Born in Ossining, NY, on June 5, 1939, Chris was the beloved husband of Virginia Pellegrino and a proud father to Matthew (Ellen), Brian (Tiffany), Jennifer, and Sarah DiCicco. To his nine grandchildren: Matthew, Cole, Nicolette Arden, Ashton, Savannah, Shayne, Isabella, Miabella, and Jagger, he was affectionately known as "Grandpa Vito." He is also survived by his sister, Carmella "Mel" DiCicco.

Chris had a distinguished 40-year career as a hospital CEO. A passionate history buff, he was an avid reader who especially loved learning about World War II, the American Revolution, and the lives of U.S. presidents. He also loved to travel, with Italy holding a special place in his heart, especially his family's place of origin in Bari, Puglia.

Sports were a constant in Chris's life and he passed his love of sports and athleticism to his children. He played ice hockey and football in his youth and later became an enthusiastic skier, enjoying time at his home in Lake Tahoe, CA. A lifelong, die-hard fan of the New York Yankees and Giants, he never missed a game or a chance to cheer them on.

Chris will be remembered for his sharp wit, his infectious laugh, and the warmth he brought to every gathering. His spirit will live on in the stories, traditions, and joyful moments he shared with those lucky enough to have known him. Chris's legacy is one of love, family, and a life well lived.

Relatives and friends are invited to honor his life on Saturday, February 15th, with visitation from 10:15 to 11:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. John Vianney Church, 350 Conshohocken State Rd., Gladwyne, PA 19035. Interment will be private for the family.
