Charlotte Kelley Hyer, formerly of Conshohocken, PA., passed away on June 17, 2023 at The Hearth @ Drexel in Bala Cynwyd, PA. She was 86.
Born on April 28, 1937 to Dorothy Kerr Kelley and Edwin Joseph Kelley. Sister of the late John M. Kelley (1944-2018). Charlotte married James Patrick Hyer on November 14, 1959. She then mothered sons, Mark Joseph, Christopher James and the late Andrew Derr Hyer. She is survived by her husband James P. Hyer, sons Mark, Christopher, and grandchildren Logan Joseph, Delaney Elisabeth and Declan Andrew Hyer.
Charlotte graduated with honors in 1955 from St. Matthew's High School, Conshohocken, PA. Attended Chestnut Hill College, Philadelphia, where she studied Fashion Design and Merchandising, graduating Cum Laude in 1959. She then earned a Master's Degree in History at Villanova University in 1983.
Starting in 1971 at the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur in Villanova, Charlotted served in various positions and finally, as Director of Advancement where she oversaw the School's fundraising efforts through 1999. After her retirement in 2000, she served as a volunteer in recording books for sight-impaired people and ushered at several nonprofit theaters for many years.
A lover of Christmas, decorating, reading, travel, theatre, art and beauty in general, Charlotte will long be remembered by her many friends and admirers for her kind, thoughtful nature and keen sense of humor. Her college year book characterized her as having 'opinions when asked".
Relatives and friends are invited on Tuesday June 27th, Visitation from 9 to 10 AM with Funeral Mass at 10 AM at St. John Vianney Church, 350 Conshohocken State Rd, Gladwyne. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
