Obituary

Charles J. Reilly, 78, died on December 29, 2015 at his home in Jupiter, FL with his family. He was born on May 15th 1937 in Philadelphia, PA to Joseph and Mary Reilly, the third of seven children. He was raised in Southwest Philadelphia and attended West Catholic High School and LaSalle University.

Charles was a successful and visionary entrepreneur. He founded Reilly Foam Corporation in 1972 and grew it from one facility in Manayunk to 4 large fabricating facilities in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Florida and Illinois. He also founded several other real estate and commercial ventures.

His philanthropic, civic and religious contributions were equally impactful. He served on many boards and had leadership roles in many organizations including LaSalle High School, Patrons, West Catholic High School, College of Osteopathic Medicine and Legatis.
He was one of LaSalle University's most distinguished alumni and proud benefactor. Over the course of his lifetime, he received several awards, was designated an Emeritus Trustee, and endowed a classroom at Holroyd Hall and a scholarship for entrepreneurship. He received the rare distinction of Affiliate of the Affiliated Brothers of the Christian Schools for his lifelong service.

He was a devoted family man and is survived by his wife of 51 years, Kathleen, and his four children, Kathy (Kevin Scherer), Joseph (Amy), Michelle Traynor (Sean) and Brian (Shannon) as well as his 12 beloved grandchildren and his sisters Maryanne Seefeldt, Genevieve McCloskey and Helen Grevy and his brother Joseph Reilly

Charles spent his last years in Jupiter, Florida. He will be missed by his many friends in Philadelphia, Ocean City and Jupiter for his quick wit, love of life, generosity, humility and loyalty to friends, family and faith.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday January 15, 11 AM at St. John Neumann Church, 380 Highland Ln., Bryn Mawr, PA. Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation from 9-11 am at the Church. Burial will be private.
