CARL A. HECHMER, JR. passed away peacefully at his residence in Rosemont, PA on December 17, 2014.

Born July 10, 1918 to the late Carl A. Hechmer, Sr. and Eleanor M. Hechmer (Dove) in Baltimore, MD. Beloved husband of 70 years to Mary E. Hechmer (nee Joyce). Father of Mary Ellen Adams (Eugene), Lawrence J. Hechmer, Ann H. Wilson (Blake), Teresa H. Anzalone and the late Margaret G. Hensley (Howard), Carl A. Hechmer, III. (Patricia) and Francis C. Hechmer (Janet), and father-in-law of the late Ronald M. Anzalone. Beloved grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Carl is predeceased by his sister, the late Elizabeth "Betty" Mueller of Silver Spring, MD.

Carl was a graduate of Georgetown University Law School, Washington, D.C. He was a patent attorney for the DuPont Company in Wilmington, DE for over twenty years and managed the patent department at Pennwalt in Philadelphia, PA until his retirement at age 70. He then served as a pro bono attorney for Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania for ten years.

The family will receive condolences on Monday, December 22nd from 9:30 until his celebrated Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM., at St. John Vianney Church, 350 Conshohocken State Rd., Gladwyne, PA 19035. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
