Brian Benjamin Deveney died peacefully on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 in Paoli, PA at the age of 67.
Brian is survived by his wife, Patricia (nee Taylor); son Brian Deveney (wife Jessica); daughter Megan Dempsey (husband Shawn); grandchildren Jameson Dempsey and Elinor Deveney; siblings Patricia Renihan, Florence Trinsey (Hank), Carol Irvin (Edwin), and Keith Deveney (Patricia); and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by parents William Deveney and Geraldine (nee Coghlan) and brother William Deveney.
Brian was born on May 13, 1954 in Darby, PA. He graduated from Sharon Hill High school in 1972. Brian entered the United States Army directly after graduation and served through 1975. He married Patricia on November 18, 1978 and the couple relocated to Folcroft, PA for seven years before moving to East Fallowfield to start their family. Brian worked for Weinstein Supply in Philadelphia and Lansdowne, PA as a truck driver for 28 years. He is a lifetime member of Sharon Hill American Legion Post 193 in Folcroft, PA. For a number of years Brian was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish in Coatesville, PA.
Upon retirement, Brian relocated to Ocean Pines, MD. An avid fisherman, Brian could often be found sitting on his dock, watching the water. He enjoyed fishing trips with friends and family, especially to tropical locations. When not fishing, Brian most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren by going on walks and building Lego towers.
Relatives and friends are invited on Wednesday July 14th to a Viewing at 10 AM followed by Prayer service at 11 AM at McConaghy Funeral Home, 328 W. Lancaster Ave., Ardmore, PA. A luncheon will follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Brian's life.
