Betty Lou McKenna (nee McGarvey), of Haverford, PA., passed away on March 25, 2024 at Brandywine Living at Haverford Estates.

The daughter of the late Beatrice Hewitt McGarvey and Raymond McGarvey, Betty Lou was born on February 7, 1935 in Philadelphia, PA.  Betty Lou received her BS in elementary education from Cabrini College and loved shaping young minds.

Betty Lou was the beloved wife of the late William F. McKenna, Jr. Devoted mother of John P. McKenna (Catherine), Kevin M. McKenna (Kristin) and Christine B. Oliver (Frank). Loving grandmother of Mary Kate, Cara, Ryan, Aidan and Scott.  Dear sister of Gloria Higson and the late Mary McGarvey.

She will be remembered for her hilarious stories, her infectious laugh, her delicious cooking and her endless amounts of love for everyone in her life. Her greatest pride and joy were her five grandchildren. We are all so lucky to have known such a devoted and loving person. Betty Lou loved spending beautiful summer days on the Ocean City and Cape May, NJ beaches.

Relatives and friends are invited on Tuesday April 2nd, Visitation at 9:30 AM with Funeral Mass to begin at 10:30 AM at St. John Neumann Church, 380 Highland Ln., Bryn Mawr PA.  Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
