Obituary

Bernice A. Murphy, of Havertown, PA., passed away on February 15, 2020 at Bryn Mawr Hospital.  She was 87.

Beloved daughter of the late Bernard A. and Mary Loughlin Murphy, she was born on August 15, 1932 in Darby, PA.  Bernice was a lifelong member of Annunciation B.V.M. Parish in Havertown, PA. She was a 1950 graduate of Merion Mercy Academy and a 1954 graduate of Immaculata College.  She volunteered at the Philadelphia Horticultural Society. Some of her many loves were gardening, vacationing in Ocean City, NJ, ice skating and playing tennis and bridge.

Bernice was the loving sister of Mary Jane Hamburger (Richard J.) and the late Rosemary Murphy. Dear aunt of Ellen Collins (Mark), Joan Dominguez (Sam), Marylou Compton (Glenn), Richard Hamburger (Kelly), Maureen Bishop (Brian) and James Hamburger (Gaye). Great-aunt to Bridget, Lacey, Sam, Ellie, Maizy, Andrew, William, Katie, Eileen, Matthew, Connor, Sally, Nara, Raymond and Daniel. A special thanks to Jennifer Clark for all her loving care.

Relatives and friends are invited on Saturday February 22nd to a Visitation at 10 AM with Funeral Mass at 11 AM at Annunciation B.V.M. Church, 401 Brookline Blvd., Havertown, PA. Interment is private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Merion Mercy Academy, 511 Montgomery Ave., Merion Station, PA 19066.
