Coach, father, husband, and friend, Bernhard A. Sack, otherwise known as, Ben, Benno, or Coach died on May 13, 2016 unexpectedly at his home in Rosemont, PA. Ben was a devoted father, loving husband and a spirited coach to children of all ages. Ben was a Radnor High School football and basketball star. He was the unsung hero in the 1956 District Title Basketball Game, scoring his career high 17 points, defeating previously undefeated Chester High School. He played football for the University of North Carolina and Lafayette College. Ben and Lois met in college and were married shortly thereafter. Ben was an officer in the US Marine Corps, golf pro, salesman, and a stock broker. Ben and Lois had two children, Jody (deceased) and TJ. Once Jody and TJ were old enough to be involved in sports, Ben took action. He was a coach for little league baseball, Radnor Middle and High School basketball and the Paoli Wildcats. He had a tremendous passion for golf. Ben would spend his days hitting balls at Olde Masters or playing rounds of golf with friends at Overbrook Country Club and Edgemont Country Club. He loved working out at the gym as well, Club La Maison, sometimes twice a day. Above all, Ben loved people. He did not care about material things or how much money you made, he loved everyone. His personality was one of a kind. Energetic and outgoing are understated ways to describe the Coach. You could hear him wherever he was saying enthusiastically "My man, You got it!"
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Lois A. Sack, his son, Thomas Jay "TJ" Sack, his daughter in law, Lauren H. Sack, his grandchildren, Katelyn Jody Sack and Molly Elizabeth Sack, his sister Christine Gordon-Watson and his brothers Richard Sack and Jon Sack.
