Audrey's passion for providing care was combined with her passion for travel when in 1962, she joined the HOPE ship on its mission to Peru, where it, and she supplied food, medicine, healthcare and education to thousands of poor families. Audrey was a woman of many interests. She was an unusual combination of athlete, academic and healer. She loved the game of tennis and played several times a week until late into her early 80s. She was an avid traveler and was lucky enough to see many corners of the world. These included notable trips throughout Europe and South America as well as notable trips to Soviet Russia, The Galapagos Islands, Egypt and Africa.
Later in her life she developed a passion for boating and purchased a 40' Trawler which she docked in Rock Hall, MD. and sailed on numerous adventures including completing over half of the great loop from Lake Erie to the Gulf Coast of Florida. She remained owner and captain of "Wings" until the age of 89.
In her final years, she moved from her home in Haverford, PA, to Dunwoody Village in Newtown Square, PA. where she enjoyed meeting and playing bridge with her friends, reading, following politics and sharing time with her children and grandchildren.
