ANNE LOUISE "AnniePi" SANDOR (nee DAVIS), of Bryn Mawr, PA and Vero Beach, FL died on September 9, 2009. She was 64.
She was born in Stockton, CA on November 25, 1944, where she grew up. She graduated from the University of California at Berkley, and did post graduate work in accounting at Villanova University. She met her husband Thomas L. Sandor in Los Angeles, while attending summer school at UCLA. They were married in 1967 and shortly thereafter moved to Honolulu, HI where they lived for seven years, before relocating to Los Angeles, and then in 1979 to Philadelphia.
Anne enjoyed working for a living. She was in social work in Los Angeles and Honolulu but then became a Certified Public Accountant when the family moved east . She worked for a firm of CPAs, and then became controller of the National Heart Transplant Fund, based in Bryn Mawr. She was also Treasurer and Board member of the Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis Center.
She was an avid tennis player, golfer and duplicate bridge enthusiast. In each case she won club championships, competed on teams or won tournaments. She belonged to numerous clubs including the Merion Cricket Club, Merion Golf Club, John's Island Club in Vero Beach, FL.
Her accomplishments brought Anne recognition, but what she most valued and nourished were her friends. She felt the loving support of her friends as she went through years of cancer treatment. Those who knew and loved her gave back the kindness and attention that she had always showered on them. As a first class gardener, she knew the importance of sunshine, water, food and care. Her close friends were the flowers in her garden.
Anne is survived by her husband Thomas, daughter Melissa, sons Timothy, and Nicholas and his wife Meghan and granddaughter Eva Grace, as well as one brother Keith.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service Tuesday September 15, 11:00 AM at The Sanctuary of Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church, 625 Montgomery Ave., Bryn Mawr, PA. Interment is private.
