Anne C. O'Donnell (nee Englebert), formerly of Wayne, PA., passed away on November 27, 2008 at Oak Crest Retirement Community in Parkville, MD. She was 82.
Daughter of the late Francis M. and Frances Kelly Englebert, she was born in Bryn Mawr, PA on June 7, 1926. She was a graduate of St. Katharine of Siena High School where she was a member of the basketball team and excelled in Latin. She was an active member of St. Katharine's as a long time volunteer in the cafeteria, a basketball coach, reunion planner and Centennial Committee member. Anne was also a former volunteer and President of the Bateman-Gallagher American Legion Post No. 668 Auxiliary in Wayne.
On November 27, 1952 she married Charles O'Donnell who preceded her in death in 1957. Anne lived in Wayne all of her life. In 2001 she and her sister Jeanne relocated to Baltimore, MD to be closer to Anne's daughter Mary Anne.
Anne is survived by her daughter Mary Anne, her sisters Jeanne Englebert and Yvonne Stephens, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Another sister Margaret Shivelhood preceded her in death.
A Funeral Mass will be held on December 4, 10 AM at St. Katharine of Siena Church, Lancaster & Aberdeen Aves., Wayne, PA. Relatives and friends may call at the Church after 9 AM. Interment Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Catholic Charities-MD, 320 Cathedral St., Baltimore, MD 21201.
