Anne M.
Meehan
September 25, 1936 – May 4, 2026
Anne M. Meehan (nee Taylor), beloved wife of Peter Meehan of Drimalost, Donegal (deceased), passed away on May 4, 2026; she was 89 years old. She is survived by her five children, Colleen Heenan (Vincent), Susan Beitzel, Kevin Meehan, Sandy Grover (Gary) and Jennifer Grassi (Rob). She is also survived by nine of her ten grandchildren, Matthew Harkins, Nicole Bucci (Gary), Christopher and Brendan Heenan, Dylan and Bethany Grover, and Olivia, Nina and Maya Grassi. Andrew Harkins predeceased her. She was especially happy to have known her four great grandchildren, Nolan, James, Juliet and Nathan.
Anne was born on September 25, 1936 in Scranton, PA to Paul and Marie Taylor and had many fond memories of growing up in Clarks Green with her three siblings, Terry Stacy, P. John Taylor and Carol Daigle. She graduated from Saint Paul High School in Scranton in 1954. She met Peter, her husband to be, at the Irish dances in Upper Darby, PA which she attended with co-workers from the bank where she worked. Anne and Peter spent most of their lives in Havertown, PA raising their children and surrounded by family and friends.
Anne was dedicated to her family. Her children's friends were always welcome at her home, whether it was hot chocolate after Christmas caroling in the neighborhood, cook outs in the backyard or swimming in the pool. The front grass never grew well because her home was always base for a game of kick the can or wiffle ball. She was always willing to pick up a grandchild from school or take them wherever they needed to go.
Anne spent her later years in Ardmore, PA and was a great sports fan, especially of the Philadelphia Phillies. Everyone in Anne's life found her to be caring, welcoming, and loving, whether it be family, friends, neighbors or health care workers. She truly cared for everyone in her life. Many thanks go out to all the people who took care of her in the last years of her life.
A private burial will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
