ANN D. HEANEY- of Ardmore, PA.

Proud of her kids, her family and her beloved North Carolina roots, our Mom, Ann Dalton Heaney passed away on December 15, 2010. She was 91.

Born February 10, 1919 and raised in Hendersonville, NC to James and Dovie Dalton, Mom married the love of her life, the late John J. Heaney, Sr. The matriarch of the family for over 50 years, her greatest joy was her husband and her kids who she raised to be independent in their beliefs and fearless in their approach to life.

Mom was an avid storyteller who loved a crowd around her as she told her family tales again and again. Her Southern hospitality and graciousness extended to everyone she ever came into contact with.

Her spirit and her family stories live on through her children and their spouses-John and Maren Heaney; Mary Ann and Jim Lydon; Ellen and Joe Martinez; James Dalton Heaney and Brenda Gach; Chris and John Wismer-along with 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. We will miss her every day but know that she is being embraced by loved ones who have welcomed her home.

Family and friends are invited to call at St. Colman Roman Catholic Church, Lancaster Ave. & Argyle Rd., Ardmore from 9 to 10 AM on Monday, Dec. 20. Mass of the Christian Burial will immediately follow. Interment will be at St. Denis Cemetery, Havertown, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Philabundance, 3616 South Galloway Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19148.
