Ann Nancy Brennan (nee Esposito), 97, of Wayne (Rosemont/Garrett Hill), PA passed away peacefully on April 2, 2021 surrounded by the comfort and love of her family. She was the wife of Edson F. Routch, 1948 (deceased 1952) and John J. "Fritz" Brennan, 1958 (deceased 1988).
Nancy was born in Montgomery County, PA, on October 14, 1923, the daughter of Francis E. and Agnes T. Esposito. She was a graduate of West Conshohocken High School. Nancy worked for the Radnor Township School District for over 20 years supporting the Special Education Department. A member of the St. Thomas of Villanova Church Choir and performed many years with the St. Thomas Players, most notably in their stage production of "Guys and Dolls" (1982), where she was a "Mission Salvation Army Girl." Nancy also shared her voice with the Conestoga Singers and Conestoga Choir. She knitted sweaters for each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nancy loved life, friends and family. Her mantras were "It's hell getting old" and "I may not be around much longer, so let me buy you this." Nancy was one-of-a-kind and will truly be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her, especially those that called her "Nanny."
Nancy is survived by her sister, Mary D. Hopkins; her sons, Michael T. (Monique), Edward G. (Jennifer Braxton), and John F. (Anne Marie "Amy") Brennan; her nine grandchildren, Emily, Rebecca, John F., Jr, Ashley, Bridget, Christopher, Alicia, Theresa and Leighanna; and eight great-grandchildren, Jake, Shane, Spencer, Kinsley, Tucker, James, Brennan and Ella. She is also survived by brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wendell and Ginny Routch, and many nephews and nieces. Besides her parents, Nancy is predeceased by her brothers, Joseph A. Esposito and Francis E. "Frank" Esposito, and her sister, Agnes M. Jones.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass Saturday September 25, 10:30 AM at St. Thomas of Villanova Chapel, 1229 E. Lancaster Ave., Rosemont, PA. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken, PA.
