Obituary

Angelo Aurello Bovo, of Bala Cynwyd, PA., passed away on July 9, 2018 at Lankenau Hospital where he was surrounded by his family. He was 73.

Son of the late Paul and Filomena "Corina" DeBacco Bovo, he was born and raised in South Philadelphia, and was very proud of his Italian lineage and heritage.  Angelo was the adored co-owner of the American Family Market in Narberth, PA for 53 years.  He served his country as a Sergeant in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and was an active member of the Bala Cynwyd-Narberth Lions Club (#6442). He was also a devout Roman Catholic and was a vital parishioner at St. Matthias Church.

Angelo was the devoted husband of the late Kathleen Patricia Bovo.  Beloved father of Monica Marie Gross (Richard).  Cherished Pop-Pop of Noah, Kaitlin and Bradley Gross.  Dear brother of Paul Bovo, Jr., (Anita) and the late Louis Bovo (Esther).  He is also survived by his brother-in-law Joseph Appicello (Linda) and numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren.

Angelo will be remembered for his gregarious smile, infectious laugh, witty humor, deep faith, and immense love and passion of all Philadelphia Sport Teams and Trivia.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday July 16, 11 AM at St. Matthias Church 128 Bryn Mawr Ave., Bala Cynwyd, PA.  Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing at the Church from 9 to 11 AM. Interment will follow in West Laurel Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
