Adele DeCrescenzo (nee Grassi), of Waverly Heights, Gladwyne, formerly of Ardmore, PA., passed away on February 1, 2011 at Lankenau Hospital. She was 96.

Daughter of the late Angelo and Rossina Marconi Grassi, she was born in Philadelphia on July 17, 1915. She was a former student of Vare Junior High School and Southern High School. Adele was a dedicated volunteer at Lankenau Hospital for 58 years- from the day the hospital opened its doors at its current location in Wynnewood in 1953, up until her passing. She was a charter member of the Women's Board since its inception, and since 1994 was acting Hospitality Chairperson and Co-Chairperson. She was a member and secretary of the Lankenau Service League as well as a member of the Deaver Auxiliary. She was involved with many charitable endeavors associated with the hospital including the Orchid Ball, Tree of Life, Christmas and Spring Fairs, Rocking Chair Marathon and Chest of Hope, as well as many other fundraising events.

She was the beloved wife of 72 years of the late Anthony DeCrescenzo. Devoted mother of Anthony, Jr. (Katherine) and Dante (Mary-Beth). Loving grandmother of Laurah (Leif), Lisa, Anthony, III. (Carrie), Gina Marie (Paul), Dante, Jr. (Diana), Deanne and Mia. Great-grandmother of Gunnar Alexi, Joey, Emily and Anthony IV. She was predeceased by her brothers Victor, Alfred and Dante and her sister Angelina.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday February 5, 10:30 AM at St. John Vianney Church, 350 Conshohocken State Rd., Gladwyne. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation Friday from 7 to 9 PM at McConaghy Funeral Home, 328 W. Lancaster Ave., Ardmore.
